Blue Angels to Headline Electrifying Florida International Air Show in Punta Gorda |
The skies over Southwest Florida will roar to life November 1-2, 2025, as the U.S. Navy's elite flight squadron returns, joined by historic warbirds and high-octane aerobatic performers. |
Southwest Florida is bracing for a weekend of thunderous excitement as the U.S. Navy Blue Angels are set to headline the Florida International Air Show this November 1st and 2nd.
For the first time since 2012, the iconic blue and gold jets will streak across the sky above Punta Gorda Airport, bringing their world-renowned precision and power back to a community eagerly awaiting their return.
This year’s show promises a powerful mix of modern military might and treasured aviation history. Get Your Tickets Now. Rent Chairs at the Event for easy relaxation instead of hauling your own.
Joining the Blue Angels is the formidable F-16 Viper Demo Team, showcasing the incredible agility of one of the Air Force's premier multi-role fighter jets.
The event marks a major comeback for the beloved local tradition, which was paused in 2024 due to hurricane recovery efforts.
A significant highlight will be the appearance of Warbird Thunder, featuring two North American SNJ Texan aircraft.
These World War II-era trainers, affectionately nicknamed "Ol Growler" for their distinctive engine roar, will perform breathtaking formation aerobatics, including loops, barrel rolls, and Cuban Eights.
“Warbird Thunder brings a unique mix of history, heritage, and heart-stopping aerobatics,” said Denise Dull, President of the Florida International Air Show.
She described the performance as a “living tribute to the aviators who paved the way for modern flight.”
The lineup is stacked with talent, including aerobatic champion Aarron Deliu, precision pilot Doug Litton, and the patriotic Chuters Jump Team, who will open the ceremonies with a flag descent.
But the experience this year extends beyond the flight line.
New additions like the Innovators STEM Pavilion and the Family Aviation Experience aim to inspire the next generation with hands-on displays featuring drones, robotics, and virtual reality.
The event is more than just entertainment; it's a significant economic driver for Charlotte County, with past shows generating millions in revenue and supporting numerous local charities.
Organizers emphasize that the entire event is staffed by dedicated volunteers, with proceeds directly benefiting nonprofit organizations across Southwest Florida.
It’s a weekend where the community can look to the skies and feel a sense of pride, history, and pure adrenaline. |
